Royal Canin Dry Cat Food, Intense Hairball 34 Formula, 6-Pound Bag +++++sylvia rivas

Posted on : October 2, 2013 | 10 Comments

An almost constant temperature and artificial lighting lead to regular hair loss in indoor cats. Two-thirds of this lost hair can be swallowed during the long and frequent grooming sessions. It may become lodged in the digestive tract and form hairballs. Predisposition to hairballs is accentuated in so-called naturally “low-excreter” cats that have food-retaining pockets in their intestines and in semi long-haired and long-haired cats. Hairballs can lead to vomiting, constipation or, in more serious cases, even intestinal blockage. A combination of different types of fibers that encourages intestinal transit and helps to facilitate the elimination of the hair your cat swallows every day. Specific nutrients can help to trap calcium in the mouth, not allowing it to attach to the teeth and contribute to the formation of tartar. A combination of compatible fiber sources support gastrointestinal health, and fatty acids, which may help to reduce inflammation. Available in 6 lbs.

  • Royal Canin Dry Cat Food, Intense Hairball 34 Formula, 6-Pound Bag

I have finicky cats. I have tried all the top line cat foods.
My cats lose interest after about two weeks, and I end up tossing the foood

I have two cats and have already purchased 3 bags of this product.
They are still not tired of this food.
Due to the intense hairball formula,I very rarely see them coughing up hair balls

It may be a little costly because it is only a 6 pound bag, but for me it is worth it.
my cats are more satisfied, and I have noticed they are happier and healthier.

My one cat is never constipated anymore, and my chubby cat looks trimmer and actually can leap to the top of his tree house with ease.
It worth the price to switch.

No foul smell in litter box at all.

  • [user#Shelby Stein regularly, i.e., on a daily basis. Once in awhile he skips, but the vet told me 1-2 days was ok.

Thankfully, when I switched his food, he liked the Royal Canin. I heard that if they don’t take to it immediately, start mixing it into their food little by little. The night we had to take him to the vet, he was so uncomfortable that he was crying and hissing like a feral cat, and his abdomen felt hard! It was heartbreaking!

Well, he has not been uncomfortable or sick or needed to go back to the vet since I started feeding him Royal Canin. He is his old self: sweet and adorable. As you also know if you have a maine coon, they are a wonderful breed. Very playful and loving, beautiful and extremely intelligent – yes, beauty and brains.

The hairball formula seems to do what it says it will — help your cat to digest large quantities of hair (and, if you have a maine coon, you know about large quantities).

The vet actually told me that he was doing of cleaning himself and that’s why he was having problems digesting his food, and that I should try to get him to lick himself less. (Can you believe that?)

Anyway, the hairball formula takes care of the hairballs, but giving your maine coon the Maine Coon Formula (I think 31) is also important for them. The way their jaw and mouth is designed, they can pop the food in without chewing and down it goes, to wreak havoc on their digestive system. Now I give him a mixture of the two foods and it covers bother bases. We actually hear the delightful sound of chewing when he eats and not just gulping! (Again, if you have a maine coon, you’ll know what I’m talking about.)

P.S., I bought some raw food over the internet that was supposed to be the next best thing to Santa Claus, and my maine coon refused to eat it! So much for that! But we don’t need it now that we’ve found Royal Canin.

  • I had much difficulty finding a cat food that my fussy cats would eat. They love this Royal Canin. It was an easy change from the Science Diet cat food. After reading about the ingredients in Science Diet and how it was not good for the animals, I decided to try this Royal Canin. It’s good for the animals and nutritious and not only that but they love it! This is what we will buy from now on.

  • During the hair shedding season, my long haired cat was getting hairballs twice a week. I gave her Laxatone and hairball relief treats to help it stop. I also brushed her daily. These things helped a little, but the Royal Canin Hairball Food helped the most. Now, she almost never gets hairballs, even if I don’t brush her often. What’s more, she’s a picky eater, and she loves this food. If you are experiencing hairball problems with your cat, I’d recommend this as something to try. It worked for us!

  • This works! No more hair balls. Unfortunately, it must taste a little too good because one of my cats will gobble it all up and immediately puke. So I have to limit how much I give them (I have never had to do this before, so it must taste extra good). So I just give them a little bit here and there and it works. I will buy it again.

  • Good food for a good price. My cat loves it and it does seem to work. I feed this as a "side dish" to her meat diet.

  • My cats like it, but it really doesn’t help with hair balls, the prevention or elimination of them. Won’t buy such a big bag again.

  • Great product my 4 cats really enjoy. While it helps protect against hairballs, my cats also consider this product to be a treat so I sometimes toss some to them which they chase and eat during our ‘play time’.

  • Although I don’t buy this from Amazon, as it’s cheaper elsewhere online, I have to say this is the best stuff I have ever tried on my cat. He used to get terrible hairball problems, lots of belching, heaving, wretching, eating grass to puke, etc. All of that has now stopped. He also can’t get enough of it and loves the taste. Must be on my 7th bag now. Highly Recommended if you are trying to sort out hairball issues.

  • Like fancy feast, Royal Canin is a marketing machine. There are healthier products for your kitty-kat out there than this one!
Always check the ingredients in cat food before you buy. Cats are carnivores, so its important your kitty eats predominant meat in his/her died. Wheat and other things are bad for his/her gut.
